2024 Met Gala: Taking the Garden of Time from the Red Carpet to Your Jewelry Box

The Met Gala, renowned for its extravagant fashion statements and bold style choices, sets the stage for the biggest names in entertainment, fashion, and culture to showcase their creativity and individuality. This year’s trend of “Sleeping Beauties, Reawakening Fashion” was complemented by the dress code named “The Garden of Time”.  While the elaborate gowns and avant-garde ensembles often steal the spotlight, the jewelry worn by attendees plays a crucial role in completing their looks and setting trends for the season ahead. As we reflect on the highlights of the 2024 Met Gala, let’s delve into the mesmerizing jewelry trends that graced the red carpet and how you can incorporate these trends on a daily basis.

Animalistic & Critters

We saw lots of animal- and critter-inspired looks mark the carpet. Jennifer Lopez wore a decadence of diamonds from Tiffany & Co.’s new Blue Book Collection, inspired by nature, with bird-featuring designs. Broches were a popular addition on men, and we saw several gold bug adornments on Andrew Scott. While realistic bug & animal jewelry may not be your everyday go to, ALOR’s Stingray collection can be the perfect way to incorporate this trend in a more subtle way. From simple stackable cuffs to more ornate cuffs with diamonds, Stingray is a great way to add dimension and texture and follow this animalistic trend.

Choker Necklaces

When the neck wasn’t completely bare to let the earrings have their moment, we saw a lot of chokers and shorter style necklaces on the carpet. From Shakira to Sydney Sweeney, to Tyla, and more, we saw plenty of styles from slim to thick neck covering designs. What none of these necklaces lacked were diamonds! Diamonds certainly stole the show with over the top encrusted looks. A choker is an easy style to clasp on and go, highlighting any neckline you can think of! ALOR’s long-loved Sonrisa necklace is the perfect addition with liquid box chain and dazzling diamonds.

Ocean-Inspired Hues

There was no shortage of oversized emeralds from the likes of Kris Jenner, Cardi B, Linda Evangelista and more. This deep green was often accompanied by more ocean-like hues of turquoise, sapphires, and a range of blue like we saw on co-chair Zendaya. How can you include these hues in your daily attire? ALOR’s Blueberry cable is the perfect deep-blue color that will take inspiration from the bright, bold colors of the Met and easily make it wearable everyday.

Teardrop Earrings

Earrings certainly had a moment and were often seen in a drop style. We saw them either in a short style with a single drop like the organic pearl style from Blackpink’s Jennie Kim, or more delicate drops like co-chair Ariana Grande and Phoebe Dynevor. Some stars opted for statement making drops such as Emily Ratajkowski’s stunning yellow diamonds from Chopard and Gigi Hadid’s triple drops. Most of the drops we noticed featured a teardrop or pear-shaped moment. ALOR has an assortment of drop earrings, but we love the teardrop cable earrings are the perfect way to turn 100+ carats of diamonds into a touch of diamonds for every day wear.

The Garden of Time

As we reflect on the dazzling jewelry trends that graced the red carpet at the 2024 Met Gala, it’s clear that creativity, individuality, and self-expression were at the forefront of this year’s fashion narrative. From statement earrings and breathtaking necklaces to stacked bracelets and dazzling hair accessories, the jewelry worn by attendees showcased a diverse range of styles and trends that are sure to inspire fashion enthusiasts and jewelry lovers alike. As we eagerly anticipate the next chapter of red carpet glamour, one thing is certain: the transformative power of jewelry will continue to captivate and inspire for years to come.
